Job Title: Childcare Manager

Hours: Full time 37.5 hrs/week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm

Salary: £23,490

Location: YMCA Beginnings Daycare, Gainsborough

Job Purpose: The Childcare Manager will be expected to provide high-quality, flexible childcare for families from the local communities. They will oversee day-to-day nursery operations, to the highest standard and in accordance with the organisation’s ethos and vision, ensuring that the best possible learning environment and utmost quality of care is provided for the young children who attend the nursery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the smooth day-to-day management, staffing and organisation of the setting

  • To manage all aspects of staffing such as rotas, supervisions, training, mentoring, holiday allocation with liaison with Senior Childcare Manager and HR

  • To ensure setting follows the organisation’s ethos vision and curriculum, creating a welcoming and family friendly environment for all

  • To work cooperatively with the Senior Childcare Manager and the organisation’s other nursery managers, contributing to the strategic planning, monitoring, evaluation and development of YMCA Lincolnshire’s nursery provision

  • To be aware of, keep up-to-date with and actively implement the settings policies and procedures to ensure all legal obligations are fulfilled in accordance with current legislation and guidelines

Person Specification:

  • Minimum of a full, relevant and recognised Level 3 qualification

  • Current SENCo Training or willingness to undertake

  • At least 2 years’ experience in working in an early years setting

  • Experience of managing and supervising a small team

  • Experience of working with different age groups from 0-5 years

  • Knowledge of relevant Early Years legislation (e.g. EYFS, SEND, Safeguarding, Childcare Act)

  • Ability to communicate well with adults and children

  • Able to work independently and make decisions in line with company guidelines
