Hospitality Assistant (Bank)

Hours: Bank, to include weekends, evenings and weekdays.

Salary: £9.50 per hour

Job purpose: To assist the Hospitality and Events Manager with the running of events within The Showroom and to provide high levels of customer service at all times. The role will assign equal importance to event delivery and high-quality administrative support.








Role and Responsibilities:

  • Providing reception duties (as and when required) for The Showroom, meeting and greeting clients; providing excellent customer service, at all times.

  • Assist and organise in room set up for bookings in accordance with customer requirements.

  • To cash up daily takings when required.

  • Prepare and serve barista style refreshments for the café area and also for hospitality events as and when required.

  • Administrative duties including, but not limited to, use of booking and EPOS systems, Office packages.

  • To help ensure compliance with health and safety, licensing laws and other legal regulations

  • To carry out other duties within the scope of the post, as directed by the Hospitality and Events Manager or Conference and Events Coordinator.

Person Specification:

  • Experience of working within a Conference, Hospitality or Catering environment or similar events role.

  • Experience of working effectively as part of a team.

  • Working knowledge of Office packages, booking systems and EPOS packages.

  • Confident and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal skills for a variety of situations.

  • Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail & the ability to work professionally under pressure.

  • Ability to handle confidential information and exercise discretion and tact.

  • Self-motivated and able to prioritise and manage own workload to ensure delivery with agreed levels.

  • A flexible approach to working hours, evening and weekend work will be required.

  • Clear understanding of reputational and service standards required by the Charity.
