Job Title: Housing Manager (Hostel)

Responsible to: Director of Housing

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

Location: YMCA Hostel, St Rumbold’s Street, Lincoln

Salary: Up to £35,000 (depending on skills, experience & qualifications)

YMCA Lincolnshire offer 24/7 homelessness support services and supported living accommodation across the city of Lincoln. The YMCA is one of the oldest and largest provider of support accommodation in Lincoln, with 151 units of supported accommodation across several sites within the City.

Job purpose:

  • To oversee the day-to-day operations of the YMCA Hostel and ensure excellence in service delivery.
  • To lead and manage the provision of a high quality, responsive housing support service that delivers and focuses on positive resident outcomes and satisfaction, responsive to their needs and aspirations.
  • Develop and drive a performance culture with a focus on continuous improvement, accountability and personal responsibility.
  • Lead, manage and motivate teams to achieve excellence in service provision.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To lead a team of staff and volunteers, ensuring they undertake their roles working within professional boundaries, relevant service standards and key performance indicators.
  • To liaise with the Director of Housing regarding the effective management of the services and the residents residing in the YMCA Hostel.
  • To be responsible for management, coordination and control of allocated resources to ensure the delivery of excellent housing services ensuring that all aspects such as support planning, neighbourhood quality, ASB, nuisance, rent recovery and resident involvement services are delivered to the highest standards in line with customer needs and expectations.
  • To implement Lincolnshire YMCA’s policies and good practice in line with all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • To ensure the accommodation offered is of an excellent standard and all Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities legislation is maintained across all accommodation-based services.

Person Specification:

  • Extensive knowledge of housing legislation, advice and practice relevant to the post.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing Housing Services in line with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Experience of providing support, supervision and motivation to a diverse staff team.
  • Experience of managing teams including people management, budgetary management and performance management.
  • Leadership and motivational skills and ability to positively lead and develop teams.
