Thanks to a generous donation YMCA Lincolnshire have been able to upgrade an entire kitchen in one of it’s supported houses in Lincoln.
People HR, an Epworth based HR software company had spare appliances and parts for a kitchen that they wanted to donate. They chose to donate to a local charity from the county and contacted YMCA Lincolnshire directly.
Their donations include a new microwave, oven, hob, two sinks, a modern extractor fan and a double fridge – which is double the size of the previous fridge.
These appliances will be used by all of the eight residents of the supported accommodation in Lincoln.
The kitchen’s furnishings have also been upgraded as well with updated modern and sleek worktops, shelving and storage space.
The new kitchen also has tripled the storage space from the previous kitchen, giving our residents more room to store tinned food, cutlery and pots/pans.
The rebuild was completed by our building maintenance team working in conjunction with contractors from the local area for the fitting of the electric. This past week the work for the Kitchen has been completed after in under ten days.

The value of the donated items would have potential in the thousands of pounds and has already dramatically improved the lives of those who live in the supported accommodation.
