Roxanne Taylor-Jones Awarded Lincolnshire High Sheriff Award

Roxanne Taylor-Jones was awarded the Lincolnshire High Sheriff Award last night at the High Sheriff Award Ceremony at Charlotte House, Lincoln.

Lincolnshire High Sheriff Tim Strawson awarded Roxanne the prestigious accolade following her dedication, outstanding service and commitment to her role as Housing Caseworker at The Nomad Centre on St. Rumbolds Street, Lincoln.

Roxanne has been employed by YMCA Lincolnshire for three years, commencing her employment as a receptionist in 2020 and moving into a Housing Caseworker role in February 2022. Her role is to support residents of the Nomad Centre in Lincoln. The residents that come to us are often experiencing a variety of traumas that have led to homelessness – Roxanne always ensures they receive the warmest welcome and are treated with respect & dignity.

Roxanne specialises in supporting those suffering from homelessness, particularly those sleeping rough on the streets, those with addiction or recovering from trauma and mental health challenges. On a day-to-day basis, Roxanne is a genuine delight to have on the team; her positivity and enthusiasm are infectious, both to her colleagues and, more importantly, to those she supports. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Roxanne, always remaining calm and focused when inevitable challenges arise in our 24-hour homeless shelter.

We're so proud to have Roxanne at YMCA Lincolnshire. We hope she will continue to be a fantastic ambassador and role model for the charity through her glowing positivity and relentless dedication to her work.
