Update From YMCA Lincolnshire’s Board of Trustees

After seven years as Chief Executive, Caroline Killeavy will be leaving YMCA Lincolnshire towards the end of January.

During Caroline’s time as chief executive, YMCA Lincolnshire has grown and developed in a number of ways, ensuring a significant legacy. Since 2018 she has led the organisation through the major refurbishment of the Nomad Centre, ensured our services continued during the Covid pandemic, overseen mergers with Community Lincs and Just Lincolnshire and thereby broadened our support for vulnerable people across Lincolnshire, and as part of a national YMCA consortium, supported RAF children and young people by securing the Airplay contract. This last year alone has seen two major capital projects delivered in the St Giles area of Lincoln; a refurbished 16 bed property on Sheridan Close and a multimillion-pound youth centre renovation at St Giles Community Centre as a new youth provision for the north of the city, as well as the acquisition of a new nursery in Gainsborough and all of our nurseries receiving Good Ofsted ratings.

We are immensely grateful to Caroline for her time as Chief Executive, and we wish her well for the future.

It is important that we take time to get the appointment of our next Chief Executive right, and so we will start the recruitment for a permanent CEO in the new year. In the meantime, we are grateful to our experienced senior executive team for their leadership across their respective areas, and Chris Kirkwood our Director of Community Development will step up as Acting CEO whilst that recruitment process is undertaken and a new permanent CEO is in place.
