YMCA Lincolnshire Partner with Lincoln Golf Club for 2025

We are pleased to announce that YMCA Lincolnshire has been chosen as Lincoln Golf Club’s Captains’ Charity for 2025.

With a commitment to year-round support and building a partnership for the future, Lincoln Golf Club aim to raise enough money to sponsor two rooms in the Nomad Centre for a year. As well as supporting our emergency access supported accommodation, they will collect essential items and   raise awareness to help us change lives for those at risk of homelessness in the city.

Upcoming captains Paul Stafford and Sue Brown were keen to set the foundations, explaining how they are looking forward to building a longstanding and meaningful partnership together:

“We are delighted to have chosen YMCA Lincolnshire’s Nomad Centre as our combined charitable cause for 2025, having visited the centre and seen the great work they do for those less fortunate than ourselves. Hopefully our monthly collections will go some way towards making peoples’ lives a little better and our charity events will raise much needed funds. We will be also taking part in the YMCA Lincolnshire - Sleep Easy, on March 7th 2025.  Along with our Club Manager Louis, we will be wrapping up and bedding down in cardboard shelters and sleeping the night outside Lincoln Cathedral.”

Continual and wraparound care are the key themes of the partnership, with the captains putting in place a plan to provide more than just monetary donations and aiming to provide 170 essential items each month, one for each person we support across our Housing Service. From shower gel to socks- this addition to the partnership shows a real commitment and is something we are always grateful for; a regular donation of essentials to our residents assists in the consistency of delivery that is so vital to our service.

Over the last 12 months, the Nomad Centre has supported over 200 people and our work there provides a safe and comfortable space for them. As well as clinical support, we also provide enrichment activities and have served over 24,000 meals in the last year.

It is thanks to generosity of people like Lincoln Golf Club that we are able to continue providing vital support through the Nomad Centre. We could not do what we do without the kindness of others.
