Age-friendly Awareness Training

This immersive training will help you to better understand the daily life experiences of older people, like the challenges of mobility or difficulties with sight or hearing loss.

Your organisation will benefit from a full day of interactive, conversational and activity-based training, leading to a greater appreciation of what it means to be ‘Age-friendly’.

The aim of the training is:

  • Challenge stigmas around ageing
  • Improve your organisation’s knowledge about how to build age-friendly communities
  • Encourage your team to think about their own inclusive practice and how things could be improved for older people

TED (Talk, Eat and Drink) in East Lindsey

Between 2015 and 2022, we delivered ‘Talk, Eat, Drink (TED) in East Lindsey’, as part of the National Lottery Community Fund’s Ageing Better programme.

TED identified strong activities and practices, in relation to older people’s experiences, that were delivered through existing groups and services, and helped to develop and promote them. This was possible because of the insights provided by a vast number of local people over 50, and the committed involvement of local organisations.

TED worked to reduce isolation across East Lindsey and was designed to empower and connect individuals, helping to create sustainable change in communities. It also helped to organise self-sustaining Friendship Groups, led to the creation of Age-friendly Business Awards, and worked with a variety of delivery partners to reach a wider community.

Our Community Development Officers will continue to contribute to national developments in Better Ageing.
