YMCA Lincolnshire congratulates Trustee Hayley Crawford on King’s Birthday Honour

Everyone at YMCA Lincolnshire is delighted to congratulate our Trustee, Hayley Crawford, on being awarded the prestigious King’s Police Medal (KPM) in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours.

The award recognises Hayley’s outstanding contribution to public service and her tireless commitment to creating safer communities. As the founder of Ask for Angela, Hayley developed a powerful initiative that has transformed the way venues support people who feel unsafe, threatened or vulnerable. What began as a local scheme has become an internationally recognised safeguarding programme, helping countless people over the last decade.

Commenting on the honour, Hayley said:
"I am honoured to have been recognised for my work as the creator of Ask for Angela. I am passionate about making public spaces safer for everyone. Ask for Angela is now 10 years old and still going strong. I hope to continue to inspire other social spaces to take the scheme on."

YMCA Lincolnshire Chair Kerrin Wilson QPM said:
"On behalf of the whole Board and wider organisation, I want to say how incredibly proud we are of Hayley. Although one of our newest members of the Board, we have seen first-hand how driven and passionate she is about keeping people safe and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Her work developing and leading the Ask for Angela charity is second to none and she clearly deserves to be recognised by King Charles III. While she has been honoured by the King, we have been honoured to have her as part of our YMCA family."

Hayley’s dedication to safeguarding and supporting others reflects the values at the heart of YMCA Lincolnshire. We are immensely proud to have her as part of our Board and celebrate this well deserved recognition of her remarkable achievements.

Congratulations, Hayley, on this outstanding honour.
