Retail Volunteer
Our YMCA Lincolnshire charity shops are community hubs that provide a friendly face and great products at fair prices. Our shop volunteers are essential in helping things to run smoothly behind the scenes and giving our customers a great experience. All proceeds go toward giving young people, families and adults the support that they need.
As a retail volunteer you will be part of our friendly retail team. You will be preparing and sorting donations, setting up displays and serving customers.
No experience is necessary as full training will be given. Those with previous experience in retail are always very welcome.
This role involves:
- Taking payment and using the till
- Assessing donated stock
- Processing stock to sell in the shop
- Welcoming and helping customers
- Creating eye catching window and in-shop displays
- Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
- Promoting Gift Aid and other fundraising initiatives
- Acting as an ambassador for YMCA Lincolnshire.
This role would suit people who:
- Enjoy talking to people
- Are happy being in a busy environment
- Can use their initiative as well as follow directions
- Like to be active and busy
