YMCA Lincolnshire’s Rural Youth Clubs Named Finalists at the Youth Matters Awards 2025
We’re absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news – YMCA Lincolnshire’s Rural Youth Clubs have been shortlisted as finalists in the Family & Youth Project of the Year category at the 2025 Youth Matters Awards.
This national recognition celebrates projects across England and Wales that are making a real difference in the lives of young people and families – and we’re honoured to be counted among them.
Reaching the Heart of Rural Communities
Lincolnshire is one of the most rural counties in the UK, and for many young people living in remote villages, access to youth services can be limited or even non-existent. That’s where our Rural Youth Clubs step in.
Our clubs were created to meet young people where they are, breaking down barriers of transport, cost, and accessibility. Instead to expecting young people to travel to us, we bring our services directly into their communities through a mobile, community-first approach.
Since launching, we’ve supported over 2,823 young people through weekly sessions held across multiple rural locations. For many of these communities, we are the only youth provision – offering not just fun and activities, but connection, opportunity, and support.
More Than Just a Youth Club
Each session offers a welcoming, safe space where young people can relax, socialise, and grow. With a mix of arts and crafts, sports, chill-out zones, and games, our youth clubs are full of energy and inclusion. But beyond the activities we provide something even more vital – trusted adult support, positive role models, and a sense of belonging.
We’re proud of the meaningful relationships we’ve built with families, schools, and local councils across the county. These connections ensure our clubs are not only tailored to the needs of each individual community, but also have a lasting, transformative impact.
